Technology:

EdgeWave Email Security deploys proprietary technology that surpasses other approaches with its ability to stop emerging threats without adversely affecting the flow of your legitimate business-critical email. Our proprietary technology protects both inbound and outbound email to assure comprehensive email defense.

Inbound - Incoming email must pass through successive layers of SMTP session level defenses before reaching the recipients inbox. Each level looks for and removes specific threats such as content analysis, virus detection, sender profiling.

Outbound - Outbound traffic is inspected to identify computers that have been infected and converted to a "zombie" or botnet client. Botnet attacks can result in your network being black-listed by other spam filters, preventing legitimate email sent by anyone on your network from reaching its intended recipient.

Zero-Minute-Defense - Employs real-time knowledge gathered from a worldwide sensor network and uses it to create new detection and protection rules, which are then sent as updates on a continuous basis.

Managed Appliance Deployment

EdgeWave Email Security appliances are fully managed and don't require the deployment of any client software or any additional hardware. With five different models from which to choose, there is a model to fit your specific needs. Current appliance models include the MAG2000, MAG2500, MAG2600, MAG2700, MAG3000, and the MAG4000, which can manage more than 20,000 mailboxes, and is scalable to hundreds of thousands of mailboxes when configured in a clustered multi-appliance architecture.

Easy and Flexible
Your EdgeWave Email Security appliance can be deployed inside or outside your firewall to suit the requirements of your network. You simply update your firewall to direct traffic to the appliance..To initiate outbound service you should also update your reverse DNS entry for your new appliance's public IP and ensure that your DNS PTR record matches the SMTP HELO, exactly. If you currently use Sender Policy Framework (SPF) for your domain, we suggest updating your DNS TXT record to include the new MAG appliance IP. As a fully managed appliance it doesn't require any initial filter training or ongoing tuning, and end-users do not need to report spam or develop individual rules. Our team of email security experts are constantly monitoring the spam landscape and updating our customers' Email Security appliances with new rules that protect you against the latest email threats.
