iPrism has a Brand New User Interface
The iPrism Web Filter user interface is not only more intuitive and therefore easier to navigate, it includes enhancements that will assure you get optimum performance and functionality.
Our goals in developing the new UI were important. We wanted to make sure we listened to our users before we made changes and then consulted them along the way to make sure the changes and enhancements we were making were the right ones.
Our Goals in Designing a New UI
- Enhance iPrism's Low TCO: In an independent study, iPrism proved to have the lowest total cost of ownership when compared to other
leading Web security gateway solutions. The new iPrism UI was designed to assure that we are keeping TCO low while meeting our users'
requirements and easing their administration challenges. We achieved this by talking to our users and focusing on their perspective,
rather than on our developers' interests.
- Go with the Workflow: IT departments face many workflow challenges. There is the workflow of managing your Web filter, and the greater
workflow of maintaining network availability and keeping corporate users happy. The new iPrism UI addresses both by making it easier to
discover all of iPrism's capabilities, assuring that features and options are not buried under layers of menu items. In addition, if your
config session gets interrupted by other workflow demands, you can save your settings and return to them later. iPrism keeps a record of all
your settings and makes them available on-demand.
- Use IT Resources Efficiently: Designing a UI that's accessible for multiple users helps IT departments better manage their resources. To achieve this goal, we expanded the Admin Roles section so that more roles and privileges can be designated and customized. In addition, multiple users can sign-on at once allowing you to divide and distribute tasks for optimum resource utilization.
New Integrated iLearn Center
Another way iPrism is making IT admin easier and thus lowering your TCO is with a new system of video tutorials imbedded within the UI. The iPrism
iLearn Center is an enhanced user support feature that allows you to manage your Web filter configuration and policy settings on-the-fly, shaving hours
off the time you spend on IT administration tasks. These short video tutorials walk you through specific iPrism tasks without requiring you to log out
and access a manual or knowledgebase. The iLearn Center tutorials are accessible through the new user interface from a central help page and also via icons
conveniently located at relevant points throughout the iPrism UI.
